The married lead pastor of a mega-church in the Phoenix suburb of Gilbert has been forced to resign after church leaders discovered that he has been engaging in multiple extramarital affairs with women from his congregation…

Mark Connelly admitted to his sins and resigned as lead pastor of Mission Community Church on December 30 after being confronted about the affairs and asked to leave.  Connelly and his wife, Kay, have been married for 29 years and have two children, Luke and Naomi, together.

An estimated 6,000 people attend services at the Arizona church every weekend and members received news of Connelly’s misdemeanor at worship on Jan. 4 and 5.

‘We are committed to helping Mark rebuild his marriage and we have offered all of the mercy and counseling resources of our church to help him and his family through this time,’ said Executive Pastor of Ministries Gary Sutliff, who has been named interim lead pastor. ‘In addition, we have offered the same resources to the women involved. Our priority right now is helping all those involved, including the people of our church, heal from this.’

Just last year Connelly had hosted a seminar on what makes a successful marriage at the Buckhead Church in Atlanta. ‘Their past struggles and present challenges put Mark in a unique position to encourage us all,’ stated the event’s invite.

The church started in 1995 as Superstition Springs Community Church and held its first public service in a high school cafeteria.  The congregation will choose a permanent replacement from among the leadership.

This is crazy!  A 47-year-old woman has been arrested after being exposed for sexually molesting a 12-year-old boy that she hared a house with, by sneaking into his bedroom to perform sex acts…

The alleged victim told investigators that Keturah Zillah Gibson would wake him after 2am and carry out the sex acts. He said she would kiss him and perform oral sex at the house they shared in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Gibson, who doesn’t have a police record, has denied the accusations and said she never performed sexual acts on the boy.

During two police interviews Gibson told detectives the boy had kissed her, attempted to place her hand on his buttocks on one occasion, and that the attention made her feel good.  The victim told a different story and alleged between June 2012 and December 2013 they had between five and ten sexual encounters.  The boy said Gibson sent him a message with instructions that he should not tell anyone, that she had spoken with an attorney and that as long as there was no sexual activity she could not be arrested.

When Gibson appeared before Broward County Judge John Hurley on multiple lewd and lascivious charges she was ordered to stay away from her alleged victim. Gibson was also charged with witness tampering and molestation.  She was also ordered to surrender her passport and remained in a Broward jail Tuesday on $110,000 bond, records show. Read more…

Dr. George Harlow, a trained geologist specializing in mineralogy and crystallography and a curator at the American Museum of Natural History in New York, told Jezebel.com that this ‘upgrade’ trend is becoming more common among jewelers.

‘The thing is with brown [diamonds], there’s an oversupply,’ he said.  ‘So there’s a desire to try and change them from industrial diamonds, which is what they generally are, to a gem buyer.’

The fine jewelry brand Le Vian has actually trademarked the term ‘Chocolate Diamond’ in an attempt to glorify the brown gemstone.

One of its ‘bridal set’ rings listed at Macys.com, which consists of a 2-1/4 carat round-cut brown diamond, surrounded by smaller stones in the same color and 20 clear ones, is priced at $12,300. At the bottom of the price scale – but certainly not cheap at $950 – is a simple white gold band featuring just over a dozen 1/5 carat ‘richly-hued chocolate diamonds’.  Read more at MailOnline…

Charity Stevens seemed like a normal sophomore walking the halls of New Life Christina School in Longview, Texas – except for the fact that she was 34 years old…

The woman, whose real name is Charity Ann Johnson, was arrested Monday night- more than six months after she enrolled in the high school pretending to be a 15-year-old orphan. According to school officials, Ms Johnson came to New Life Christian School last October accompanied by a guardian who turned out to be younger than the fake tenth-grader

During the enrollment process, Johnson gave the name Charity Stevens and indicated that she was 15 years old. Tamica Lincoln, 30, who took on the role of Johnson’s guardian last March, told the station KLTV the bogus teenager told her that she had been abused by her biological father, who has since died along with her mother.

The two women met while working at a McDonald’s together. Johnson told Lincoln that she had no place to stay after losing her parents.   Lincoln brought the suspected con artist four years her senior into her home ‘as a child,’ bought her clothes and did her hair. She even attended parent-teacher conferences to talk about the fake sophomore’s impressive academic performance.

‘She acted like a kid. She did her homework. She got good report cards,’ the 30-year-old Longview resident told ABC News.  Johnson’s web of lies began unraveling when Lincoln got a call from the head of a group that helps children in need, which the 34-year-old had allegedly tried to join.

The woman told Lincoln that she ran a background check on ‘Charity Stevens,’ which provided more questions than answers. Lincoln then decided to make inquires of her own and called a manager at the McDonald’s where both she and Johnson worked. The staffer pulled up the high schooler’s file, which indicated that her birth year was 1979 and her real name Charity Johnson.

Last Tuesday, Lincoln and the phony orphan’s mentor, Ray Ward, alerted police to the alleged fraud before heading over to the high school.  ‘Teachers were crying and students were crying, and her best friend just couldn’t believe it,’ Lincoln said.

School officials said Johnson came in last October as a home-schooled student without any prior transcripts.  Officers who responded to Lincoln’s Longview home Monday night asked Johnson to identify herself, and in response she gave them the name Charity Stevens – the same moniker used on her school application.

The woman has been charged with failure to identify/giving false, fictitious information. She remains in the Gregg County Jail on $500 bond.

According to new research, the factor of your holiday that is most likely to make you feel unwell is not a poorly-cooked dish in a cheap restaurant or a biting insect in a jungle – but the planes that carry you on your journey and the airport where you board them…

An investigation conducted by respected US news programme The Today Show has uncovered worrying evidence of ingrained germs and dirt – and even traces of excrement – in the transport hubs and on the aircraft that we use so regularly.  The show went undercover at an unnamed American airport, and tested key parts of the flight experience for traces of harmful matter and unsanitary conditions.  The results do not make for pleasant reading.

One place that proved to be of immediate concern was the security-scan queue.  Researchers used test swab kits to check for invisible extras in the plastic boxes that are a standard part of security procedures – playing temporary host to all manner of potentially soiled items, including passengers’ shoes, as well as their carry-on bags.

Alarmingly, the study found the boxes to be widely filthy – and in one case, home to small traces of fecal matter, perhaps left by the dirtied sole of a shoe.  There were further unappetising results when the researchers boarded the aircraft. Although the airline in question has not been named, it is reasonable to think that the findings will be replicated across any carrier where there is a high turnover of passengers.

The worst offenders when it came to on-board hygiene were discovered to be the fold-down tray tables that travellers use for eating in-flight meals.  These were found to be rife with high levels of bacteria – perhaps the result of airlines failing to wipe the tables properly between flights. Even worse were the plane’s seat belts – touched over the years by thousands of hands, but rarely cleaned or replaced. The researchers uncovered the presence of human ‘bacteroides’ – germs which can cause real damage to health.

‘These are bacteria that live in our gut and our intestines,’ Dr Robert Glatter of New York’s Lenox Hill Hospital told Today.  ‘These are dangerous bacteria that cause serious infections.’

Bacteroides can be transferred through simple skin contact.

The investigative team took 13 different samples. Nine of them returned traces of harmful germs.  The results were, however, not entirely negative – with other areas of the air travel experience proving remarkably clean where bacteria might be expected. A relatively new installation in modern airports, the touch-screen facilities where passengers can scan their passports and check themselves in proved to be germ-free – despite being tapped and pressed by hundreds of different hands every day.  And while plane seat-belts were festering with nasties, the arm-rests between the seats – so often the subject of personal-space battles between travellers – were also clean.

Convicted drug dealer Franklin Meyer claims he shot the 16-minute footage with Jolie’s consent in 1999 after she called him round to her Manhattan home to re-supply her with heroin and cocaine.  Jolie has since described it as a ‘dark’ and ‘dangerous’ period of her life which she was lucky to survive.

In the video, first released the video to The National Enquirer, the Maleficent star paces back and forth in a dingy apartment as she talks frantically on the phone.

Meyer told the Enquirer:

Angie was a client of mine for several years. I sold her heroin and cocaine. One day she called me up and wanted me to drop by her place. That was her way of telling me she wanted me to bring her drugs.  At the time, I had just bought a video camera and decided to bring it along. When I arrived, I just gave her the drugs and then she gave me the money.’

Meyer, who has made previous claims about supplying the actress with drugs, said he kept filming her as her father, Hollywood star Jon Voight, rang and they discussed her brother, James, and late mother, Marcheline Bertrand. The footage, however, gives no clues as to who she is speaking with.

According to TMZ, authorities were called to Hardy’s home in Charlotte, NC early one morning in regards to a domestic fight. When police arrived, they discovered the Carolina Panthers defensive superstar’s 24-year-old girlfriend covered in cuts and bruises.

Hardy was ultimately arrested for assault and communicating threats. He was later released from jail on bond, and ordered to stay away from his significant other.

A man in Zimbabwe who ordered a prostitute to his hotel room collapsed in shock when his own daughter turned up at the door for the trick.  Titus Ncube from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, said the sheer shock of seeing his 20-year-old daughter sent him to the ground.  The unnamed woman reportedly fled the building. According to the Zimbabwe News, Ncube ordered the prostitute because he was experiencing marital complications.  Ncube said this in regards to his situation:

“I am sorry for what I did. I spoke to my wife and my daughter… I apologized for my actions because I just wanted my family back.”

Ncube said his daughter was no longer working as a prostitute and was planning to return to school.  Ncube added:

“My marital problems are not over, but we have a marriage counselor who is helping us to get over this most difficult period in our marriage.”

Upon hearing the sad news, his wife said:

“If it were not for my children, I could have divorced him a long time ago.”

DailyMail — An owner of the new PlayStation 4 is under fire after he used the live video feature on his Sony gaming console to broadcast images of his naked wife who was passed out drunk in the couple’s living room.  The man could be seen exposing his wife’s breast as she laid, apparently asleep, on their couch.

Moments later, she is seen completely naked after he apparently stripped off her clothes. The PlayStation 4, which was released only last week, comes with a new feature called ‘Playroom’ that allows users to broadcast live video via a service called Twitch TV. 

Already, gamers have been using the service to put on live shows of all sorts – including playing with firearms. One couple raffled off their old PlayStation 3 console. But user Darckobra broadcast a stream of him and his wife drinking heavily on their couch, Game Revolution reports.

Eventually, the woman appears to pass out. He reaches over and pulls open her dress and exposes her breast. About 15 minutes later the screen goes dark. When the feed returns, the woman can be seen, still sleeping, totally naked on the couch.

Twitch TV, which controls the broadcast, quickly banned Darckobra and tweeted out a reminder about its terms of service, which allow using the program only for gaming-related activities.  Game Revolution speculates that the Darckobra incident could lead Sony to change the way its Playroom works.  Much of the gaming press believes the incident has reminded Sony executives that their new technology can be used for ill, as well as for gaming fun.  The PS4, which was released in the U.S. on November 15, retails for $400.

Dolly Beattie, a married mother, allegedly posted sexually explicit photos and videos of her doctor after they ended their affair…

Dolly Beattie, from Amelia, Ohio, claims that before she shared the intimate images on Facebook and YouTube, Terrence McCoy had told her colleagues information about her that got her fired. Now the spat is playing out in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court as Beattie, 48, sues McCoy, 51, – accusing him of taking advantage of his doctor status during their affair – while McCoy has filed his own protective order against her. In court documents, McCoy, who is also married, admits he was Beattie’s doctor when they started an affair in September 2011 and he sent her suggestive videos and texts, Cincinnati.com reported.

Beattie ended the affair and reported him to the State Medical Board of Ohio for having sex with a patient.  She later dismissed it but the medical board continued to investigate before McCoy agreed to have his medical license permanently revoked in 2012.  Beattie had similar troubles at work after the affair; she was fired shortly after from her job at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.  She claimed that the jilted McCoy had called doctors and other hospital employees and gave them information that led to her losing her job.

McCoy has admitted in court documents that he called employees but said he did not tell them about their affair or have a part in her being fired.  After she was fired, Beattie admits that, on June 2, 2013, she posted graphic videos and photos the doctor had sent her to Facebook and YouTube. Beattie quickly removed the posts but the doctor learned about them anyway.

McCoy sued her, claiming that even though he had sent her the videos and photos, she violated his privacy by sharing them online. Lawyer Jon Garon, director of the Northern Kentucky University Law + Informatics Institute, told Cincinnati.com that he expects to see more and more cases of this type.  The case returns to court December 17.
